What is the board-foot formula?

Thickness in inches × width in inches × length in feet ÷ 12, multiplied by quantity.

Should I use nominal or actual size?

Use the dimensions your supplier uses for billing. Rough lumber is often tallied by nominal thickness.

Can I calculate one short board?

Yes. Enter a decimal length in feet, such as 2.5 for 30 inches.
